- Scaffolds with a final height above nine metres — these require special training
- Structures more complicated than the assembly instruction shows
- Weather protection and special scaffold designs — these require supplementary training
Source: the content is based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's provisions currently in force — chiefly AFS 2023:11 on the safe use of work equipment, chapter 8 and annex 6. The previous scaffolding provisions, AFS 2013:4, were repealed on 1 January 2025.
The Swedish Work Environment Authority's provisions divide scaffolding training into different levels. This course is the general training on scaffolds. With it, you may erect, substantially alter and dismantle scaffolds where there is no more than nine metres from the ground to the working platform, and where the design is set out in a general assembly instruction.
If the final height of the scaffold exceeds nine metres, or the structure is more complicated than the assembly instruction shows, special training is required. Weather protection and special scaffold designs additionally require supplementary training.

Rules, roles and responsibilities
The Work Environment Act, the provisions in force, what your training entitles you to do, the building developer, Bas-P and Bas-U, sanction fees, risk assessment and reporting near misses.

Scaffold types and components
Facade, modular, mobile and tradesman's scaffolds. Standards, transoms, diagonal braces, guard rails and ties. Type examination certificates, marking, load class and width class.

Assembly, dismantling and alteration
The assembly instruction as the starting point, ground conditions and anchoring, the right order up and down, weather, cordoning off — and why a scaffold is never altered without authorisation.

Safe work on scaffolds and fall protection
Fall risks and guard rails, personal fall protection equipment during assembly, safe access routes, loading, distance to power lines, and what to do when you discover a fault.

Inspection, documentation and daily use
Inspection after assembly and handover, signage, a daily check before work starts, extra checks after storms and alterations, and which documents must be available on site.

You pass when you know it.
You take the exam logged in with your electronic ID — we know who is behind the screen, and the certificate is issued in that identity. After each chapter you take a chapter quiz with instant feedback on every answer — you can retake them as many times as you need. Once all five are passed, the final exam opens.

Questions we often get.
You set the pace yourself. The course is divided into five chapters, each with its own quiz, and you can pause and continue whenever you like — everything you have done is saved.
You have three attempts at the final exam. The chapter quizzes can be retaken as many times as you like, so you can go back and read up before trying again.
A training certificate is only worth something if it is firmly tied to the right person. Because you identify yourself with an electronic ID, both you and your employer know the certificate cannot be mixed up or lent out. You identify yourself before the training begins.
Swedish and English today. The course is built so that more languages can be added — Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian are next in line.
Yes. Once you have passed the final exam, we register the training in the ID06 Competence Database, linked to your Swedish personal identity number. Registration is included in the price — the competence is visible to employers and clients with read access, and you do not need to submit anything yourself.
